Dear Piper & Paxton,
Fall is officially here. It has always been my favorite season. Where I grew up in Colorado, fall is quite a bit different than it is here in SoCal. Someday, I know you’ll see the changing of the Aspen trees. It is the most beautiful sight. It will change you. It will change the way you see the world. The vibrant reds, the gorgeous yellows, the deep oranges, they all have a way of igniting a fire in my soul. Colors, colors, colors – as far as the eye can see.
I will forever be grateful for seasons. The seasons of the earth, the seasons of life, the seasons of motherhood… Without the changes, without the heat and cold, the ebb and flow, the ups and downs – how would we ever be able to see and understand true beauty when it stands before us? Everyone, meet Rebecca! She is the blogger, photographer and mama behind Simple as That. I am in awe of her style and completely obsessed with her monthly photo collages and the way she keeps track of her kids artwork! Let’s be honest, I want to be just like her. So….I asked her how she does it. Take a peak below as she dishes on motherhood, photography and keeping it, simple as that.
She is also giving away a set of her ebooks, Real. Life. Photography, 40 Top Tips for Better Photos and Don’t Say Cheese. And that’s not all – also a $25 gift certificate to her digi store. I’m on my way to buy her monthly collage builder template right now – it’s so sweet!

1) How has motherhood changed your perspective on the importance of historical documentation?
I didn’t truly start diving into photography until I had my first child in 2002. Since then taking photos has been such a big part of my life – there is such a desire to preserve those precious moments of your child’s life that comes the moment they’re born. I love taking images for clients, but at the end of the day, my true joy and passion still comes from taking photos of my little family and the everyday moments that mean so much to us.
